What is ABM?

Account-Based Marketing is a strategy designed to benefit businesses who focus on winning a small number of large accounts. A traditional marketing funnel doesn’t often apply to industries such as specialist manufacturing, B2B services, technology provision and procurement – ABM targets sectors like these with much more focus.

The idea is to turn a traditional funnel on its head, and use platforms such as LinkedIn and YouTube to target specific users from specific accounts in the relevant sectors. For example, a business wishing to target Amazon to win their logistics business might wish to target a select number of procurement professionals within Amazon and direct marketing literature at them directly. This can be via resources such as ‘Big Rock’ whitepapers, webinars, events, or in-depth guides and resources. The aim should be to improve brand power and put your relationship-focused salespeople in the room with your prospect.
